Right-click on MP4 download to "save as" saves a Firefox HTML document rather than the file. It worked last week and now it doesn't. I've deleted the old .RDF file, and done a browser reset. Still no joy. Chrome downloads the file with no problem. Running Windows 7 SP Home Premium, FF 38.0.5 Thanks for any advice.

Is that still a valid MP4 file if you change the file extension to .mp4?

If this isn't working then you can check the content of the file in a text editor or hex viewer to see if the file contains an error message.

"Is that still a valid MP4 file if you change the file extension to .mp4?" No. The HTML file downloaded from Firefox is not a video. I've used this "save as" technique for dozens of downloads, and suddenly it's quit working. It could be some security issue, but IE and Chrome both download the video as expected. I plan to uninstall FF and create a fresh copy. Here are the contents of the file that FF says is a video: "<title>Object moved</title>

Object moved to here.

Removed FF and did a fresh install. Problem has been solved.
