You might want to clear your Yahoo! cookies. First, save any work in progress (e.g., draft email messages).

While viewing any Yahoo page, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Remove all the cookies ending with yahoo.com

Then try reloading the page (you should be required to login again). Does that help?

Thank you jscher2000, it worked.

I have another question: I tried to load one of my pix for my avatar and got a message that my pix file was too large and it had to be 48x48. How do I lower the size so I can upload the pix?

To resize an image on Windows XP, you could use Paint but the quality won't be so great.

Do you have any other photo editing software? If not, some popular programs are:

http://www.paint.net/ (free)

http://www.irfanview.com/ (free for personal use)

http://picasa.google.com/ (free)

(I don't use any of those myself.)
