Firefox crashes Pixel 6a
Once a while Firefox would freeze up and when that happens it would without fail reboots the phone if the phone goes to sleep and if I don't force close the app quickly. It might've done so anyway without putting it to sleep but I haven't tested leaving the screen on long enough. I noticed that if I was quick enough and force stop the app the phone doesn't reboot, but that window is really short. Maybe 2 seconds or so. Suffice to say force stopping didn't always work since the window is so short. When Firefox freezes other apps and phone functions work normally. It's been ongoing for a while through multiple updates. I see some people have already reported this same issue here. Can Mozilla fix this please? I have uBlock origin addon installed thanks. Also this never happened with my Pixel 3 phone which I was using up until a few months back so maybe it's pixel 6a specific. Alot of people have this same issue with pxiel6a from googling. It can freeze on any site I visit but one example is reddit.

Hi
I am sorry to hear that Firefox for Android is crashing. I hope that we can help resolve this for you. Before following the steps below, please make sure that you have updated both your Android device and Firefox for Android to the latest versions available.
As a first step, close down many of the tabs that you have open to as few as possible. Does this help reduce the incidence of a crash?
If this does not resolve the issue, open the Android Settings app, select Applications then find Firefox in the list. In the section headed "Storage", selct the option to clear the cache (do not clear data!). Does this help?
Failing that, our developers will need to look into this in more detail with some logs from inside your copy of Firefox for Android. Type about:crashes in the address bar which will display information about recent crashes. If you select the most recent "Socorro" link, a crash report will open in a new tab. If you could copy and paste the address of the page that opens into a reply to this thread, we will be able to look into this further for you.
I hope that this helps.
Just crashed the phone again few minutes back. There is no crash report on that screen. I just cleared the cache let's see if that helps. I normally don't have many tabs open, usually no more than 4 od 5 tabs.
Let me know if it persist.
It crashed the phone again. I was only using one tab and was on Amazon. Heres the link I was using hope that helps. Was reading the reviews on the item and the app just froze up after a while. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07CKNWHPQ/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8
I see this was reported on Firefox GitHub page, for pixel6a as well.

Seems this needs some attention from the devs as it is a pretty big issue. Hopefully it doesn't damage the phone in some way. There is no crash log.
Hi
This looks like something that our developers are aware of and are looking into. You can follow progress on this and add comments at:
The severity for the page states "Small/Trivial) minor significance, cosmetic issues, low or no impact to users " and priority is "Will not fix, but will accept a patch"
I hope I'm not reading too much into the descriptions but they dont look promising. Can someone escalate this issue to higher priority and severity? Doesn't look like just a Pixel 6a specific issue from a quick search.
Nothing else on my phone crashes let alone reboots the phone.
The bug report is open and you are welcome to add comments and further information that will help escalate a solution.

It finally logged a crash

Hi
I recommend that you add that to the bug report so that developers can look into this further for you.
I mean are the devs still looking at this issue? That bug was first reported in December and seems like it's being labeled as very low priority and no further comments made by devs. I don't want to create another account and post just to be ignored. Don't you guys work for Mozilla? If you are can't you communicate this to whomever necessary? If you are volunteers then disregard what I said.
Adding your crash report to the bug will certainly help and give you direct feedback from our developers.

Hello,
Sorry for the Firefox crash on Android. Let's solve the problem. Make sure Android and Firefox are updated.
Try closing extra tabs to reduce crashes. If not checked, in Android Settings > Applications, select Firefox. Under "Storage", clear the cache (not data). Our developers require detailed logs if issues persist. Enter about: crash in the address bar. Click on the latest "Socorro" link for a crash report. Share the page address here. Hope this helps.
well wishes
