When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

1. Clear Firefox's Cache here:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

Under Advanced, the Network tab > Offline Storage: "Clear Now"

2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here:

While viewing any page on live.com, right-click the page, choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

If the dialog doesn't work on live.com, you can right-click this page, and at the top of the View Cookies dialog, change mozilla.com to live.com

Does that help?

This did not solve my problem. Firefox will still not let me sign in!

To diagnose whether an add-on is at fault, you can try accessing Windows Live Mail in Firefox's Safe Mode.

I recommend backing up your Firefox settings first in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, try starting Firefox up in Safe Mode. Be careful not to "reset" anything permanently if you didn't back up.

Does Hotmail work there?
