Can't add attachments to emails in Gmail.
When I try to attach a file to an email send in Gmail, nothing happens. The upload bar shows no progress and the email sits in the draft folder. The size of the file has no bearing on the problem. I've tried running in Safe Mode and even did a clean reinstall but it didn't help. The problem does not occur with the same accounts in Chrome or Opera; only in Firefox. I've tried everything recommended here, but nothing helped.

Hello. I am just going to list all the debugging steps I can think of:
- Do you happen to have a proxy enabled in Firefox. It would be set up under Options > Network Settings
- Do attachments work in the basic HTML view of Gmail? You can switch to it through a link here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/15049
- Are you able to attach things on other sites? For example, can you attach an image on this forum?

I was unable to attach an image to this post on the forum and the same with the basic view in Gmail. I went to the Network settings and it was set to "Use system proxy settings." I switched it to "No proxy" and it appears to have solved the problem. I may go back in and play around with this setting a bit. Thanks.
I cannot attach files to emails in any email website (protonmail, gmail, hotmail) from Firefox (latest version automatically, in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS). I can receive attachments. I can compose emails and send them. When I try to attach, nothing happens whatsoever. I have tried running with extensions disabled, I have set "no proxy" and "auto-detect proxy settings". I can make attachments from Chrome in these email websites, so it seems to be a Firefox issue rather than an OS issue.
The Add images feature below is non-functional in the same manner (thanks to OP for this idea).
I have the similar issue and tried the above action plans but nothing is working for me.
