Firefox is my default browser. I use IE8 at times because some of my programs only open in IE. Family members use IE.

All of a sudden I can't access IE. When I try to, instead of the browser opening up, a file window comes up which is a file download and it asks if I want to save it. Weird! The name is: msn_com.htm. The Type: Firefox HTML Document. From: www.msn.com. You can only save or cancel. In effect, I can't access IE.

I also have some files on my computer that should only open on my desktop, but that same file comes up. Also, I can't access my AOL account from my desktop. The window where you put in your PW flashes for a second and disappears.

I don't know if this is a FF or IE problem. Hopefully someone out there knows what this is.

Hi 20fox12, this is most likely an IE problem. Firefox has no effect on any other installed applications. Unfortunately I have no idea what to do about your issue. I'd suggest a forum that is more tuned towards Windows issues.

Hi KadirTopal

I will check the IE forums for an answer. I thought maybe an FF user may have run into this problem if they also use IE like me. I will check back to see if another answer was submitted. I will also update this post if I find an answer.

Thanks
