This happened to us. Went to Tools, then Add-ons, scrolled down and found a Bing Add-on, deleted it and all was fixed.

Go to Tools, then to Extensions find and disable "Search Toolbar 1.2" then restart your computer. That worked for me!

This is a huge problem that could be costing me business. I'm surprised that Firefox is going downhill fast. I have no Bing add-on and when I try to remove the Toolbar, it doesn't even remove it when I have uninstalled it.

Frustrating. Maybe it's time to break up with Firefox and fall in love with another browser...one that let's me make money.

This was a huge problem for me as well.... I also have AOL mail that couldn't be read because every time I clicked on it the friggin Bing search engine popped up... I tried to follow other people's advice and go to tools->unistall-> etc. but that didn't work either. This is what I did and it stopped the emails from being blocked by Bing: On your AOL page where you are looking at your emails, click on "Settings" at the far right of the screen. That should take you to a page with tabs on the left hand side. The page should say "General Settings". You're gonna want to go to the tabs on the left hand side and pick the last one that says "Plug-ins". From there, UNCHECK the box that says "Allow plug-ins that I install to respond to my actions and information in Mail, Contacts and Calendar". Once you uncheck that box, make sure you save the change and Bing should stop popping up in front of your e-mails. Go back and check regularly that the new setting hasn't changed...as my box somehow checked itself again on it's own and allowed Bing to pop up again in my email. So you've gotta check it now and then and make sure the box is still unchecked.

Go to Tools > Add-ons > Extensions. The Bing search engine add-on is not listed under the "Bing" name. It is called something else, basically to the extent of "Search Engine Something", and the icon is a magnifying glass. I forget what exactly it's called, but it's an odd name. It will say in the description if you extend it that it is for Bing. Uninstall it. That fixes the problem.

Locking this 7 month old thread. The question has been answered repeatedly. No point in digging up an old thread to provide the same answer that has already been posted multiple times.
