Hi everybody!

I have currently changed employers and have saved the bookmarks from my work computer as html file. I follow the instructions for importing, but nothing happens. Strangely enough if I open the file in a browser, it only contains the headline 'Bookmarks', nothing else. Is the file corrupt or is there anything else wrong?

Thanks!

Hi and thanks for your answers.

Seems the file is corupt. It has a html extension and 32 KB and I created it exporting it using gmail and that was clearly the wrong way to do it. Well, worse things have happened.

How did you create that html file?

Via the Library using Export Bookmarks to HTML. Or did you copy the bookmarks.html file from your old Profile folder?

Did you check the file is a text editor?

What is the file size of the file?

Does the file has a .html file extension?

If there aren't any links in the file then I'm afraid that your data is lost. If you no longer have access to that computer and didn't backup your profile folder (i.e. you have JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder) then your bookmarks are lost.
