When trying to share a post from my newsfeed, Facebook says You have a malware issue...but other people can log onto their accounts from my computer, with no message. I've run antispyware, and it hasn't detected anything. Facebook is trying to make me install additional software, which I've read damages people's computers. Try our standard procedures to scan with multiple up to date tools as I will explain lower down.

It would also be interesting to see a screenshot of the facebook message and the web page address it came from.

I have no reason to doubt their advice. However it seems odd you need to log into to follow their links for scans.


Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.
