From the day I upgraded to Firefox Version 15, I am facing multiple crashes. I have also tried disabling graphic hardware acceleration, but with very less improvement.

Frequent crashes are very annoying, Please help.

Here is the feedback as what I have tried -----

Table of Contents Update your software Update Firefox ------ DONE Update your plugins--- DONE Update Windows--------- DONE Update your drivers---- DONE Update your Internet Security software -- DONE Check for viruses or spyware-------------------- DONE Check to see if the crash happens in safe mode ---------- NOT TRIED

I have already disabled all plugins and most of the extensions also. I firmly believe the crash will not happen in Safe mode and some of my extension is the actual culprit. I don't have to many extensions installed, (See attache snap-short) so I tried disabling them but could not locate the one causing the problem. I would really appreciate if someone could interpret the attached crash report (s) and point-out the actual extension which may be causing the crash.

Thanks.

I would bet on Norton Toolbar. Norton products have caused problems with Firefox in the past.

Your are right, I also strongly feel so. I will try disabling it any see if it helps.

But it is strange that It was working without a hitch in the previous version of Firefox and I highly depended on its Identity Safe Feature.

I have IDM CC As well. Once I disabled that it hasn't crashed anymore.

And finally when I thought the ordeal was over, here it started again. But this time I think it started after I updated my flash player to the latest version ????? . Or could it be that Firefox is not good enough to handle 42 windows with total 224 Tabs open at the same time.

That is a bit much. Why do you need to have that many windows open? You are probably overloading the operating system.

'Out of sight, Out of Mind' Being a online seller, I keep a eye on new products that I can include in my sale list. When I find a potential interesting item, It stays there until I finalize it. Thanks to session manager who saves session even after a crash.

Need of the time is , Multiple online email clients, actual sale window, sale item list, feedback received, Online account detail etc, etc...... all accumulate to so many windows. Moreover with Intel i3, 4 GB RAM, with Windows 7 in command, I don't think it a overload, considering these combination are meant for multitasking. However, thanks for your valued suggestion, I will try to close some windows.

You could keep track of some of those pages with bookmarks. That was why they were invented.

Did you try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox?

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Disabling hardware acceleration was the very first thing I tried, before posting the problem here...... little improvement was achieved .....

Organize the bookmarks into folders. They are much easier to find that way. I have over 600 bookmarks, all in folders.
