There are some pop up sites that you allow, why? I actually had to shut down the computer to get rid of one. If this continues I will have to stop using Mozilla firefox.
I was doing a regular "Google" search for area code 170 when this sight popped up in another window beneath the "Google" window. Then try as I might the window would not close. I used 'Control Alt-Delete' finally to close it yet when I clicked on 'Firefox' there it was again. Three more attempts and I shut down the computer. I will put the URL below, keeping in mind that this URL is not the one I was looking at. http://visitors-survey.com/promo/us/survey.php was the one which gave me the trouble. That, while inconvenient is not what bothers me. The fact that you allow no way for me to leave the site does.

Chances are that you picked up some Malware, which is generating that pop-under window.
John, The popup sites allowed are those you have allowed! (to catch your attention) Looks like you need to implement some security changes.
May I suggest you need to consider some/all of the following precautions:
Install and use addons Noscript, Addblock Plus, and Addblock Plus Popup Addon. Install and use a Hosts file. Install and use a few malware blockers - Spywareblaster and Spybot are OK, there are various others.
Good luck.
