The option to search the body of an email is not available
The option to search the body of an email does not show up on when I do use the search feature. On a long term basis (several years with many versions of Thunderbird) sometimes it shows up and other times it does not. I read the info from the post below but can't find where this is used because it did not match my menu list and doing a search within Thunderbird I could not find the Sync option or Keep message option:

I do keep messages for offline access so that wasn't the issue but your other comment about checking the box for "Run search on server" solved my problem.
Thank you for your time in assisting me with a years long issue that irritated me for so long.

For IMAP accounts, select Synchronization & Storage in Account Settings. If you don't keep messages for offline access, i.e. download headers only, Body isn't available in Classic Search (Ctrl+Shift+F) unless 'Run search on server' is enabled in the search window.
