I bought a new phone from AT&T and I wanted to use Firefox and get away from chrome and when they used smart transfer to transfer all my data from the old phone to the new phone no open tabs or passwords came with it and now I can't figure out how to import them. I've searched on Google and tried to follow the steps but I don't have the options that they say to use. I have tried installing Firefox on my old phone and importing them from chrome to Firefox on my old phone and then to the new phone and that doesn't work. I managed to export the passwords from Chrome on my old phone to Chrome on my new phone but I can't get the open tabs to and I can't transfer my passwords from chrome on my new phone to Firefox on my new phone. Please, can anybody help me?

Hi

At present you will need to sign into a desktop copy of Chrome, install a desktop copy of Firefox, import your data across and then use Firefox Sync to bring it your copy of Firefox for Android.

The closest thing I have to a desktop is a chromebook. Is it possible to do it on that? If so, how? I am having no luck at all. Thank you for your help.

Ah, that might be a problem. Chrome OS uses an Android version of Chrome. You could follow the instructions at https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/browsers/chromebook/ and select Get Firefox Desktop for Chromebook, but I cannot guarantee that you will be able to transfer your bookmarks across that way.

I very much appreciate you taking the time to try and help me. After following the links are reading up on how to successfully get the Firefox desktop browser on my Chromebook, I have come to the conclusion that there is absolutely no way that I am Advanced enough with computer technology to successfully do this. I don't even understand any of the terminology. If I were to use my sister's laptop which is not a Chromebook and set up a guest account using my email and downloading Firefox and doing it that way, would I be able to transfer it to Firefox on her laptop and then get it to my phone through my email address?

Yes

If she has a Linux, Mac or Windows laptop and you:

Sign into Chrome Install Firefox Import your bookmarks and other data (such as passwords and user ID) Set up/sign into your Firefox Account

...the data should be syncced across to your copy of Firefox for Android.
