How can I, if possible, update my outdated Thunderbird version 6.02? Do I need to do several incremental updates? Will I lose settings or saved emails? Running 64bit Windows 7.

Please make sure to back up your profile.” From your old version 6.0.2. Thunderbird Software. If you can turn off automatic updates do this when installing.(turn it on after finishing). Try out a row of updates that I'll pass along to you as this is a very old version of the Thunderbird software.you just have to install and follow this versions.(one after the other.)

For example 1.0.2 Thunderbird version. https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/1.0.2/win32/en-US/

To start with Thunderbird Version 12.0.1 http://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/12.0.1/win32/uk/

Choose your language. And install the .exe file from Thunderbird Software.

(15.0.1 skip) 17.0.8 /24.8.0 (38.0.8 skip) 45.8.0 /52.9.1

https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/releases/ https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/ Please use the latest release list s.

Then do Help > About until you get to version 78.0 Stay on version 78.0 until you get prompted to update to one of the newer version s of the latest Thunderbird Sofware.

I hope you have a good computer machine to do this updating on. Try to update your Operating System to Window 10 to.
