Since updating to Firefox 19.0, text and graphics get corrupted when scrolling up and down. Never happened before with previous versions, and Google Chrome and I.E. work fine.

Unable to revert to earlier version (Firefox won't allow it!), and System Restore failed due to various conflicts.

Finally resolved issue by turning off graphics acceleration ... but why? What is this needed for? And do I need to replace an ageing graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 4350)?

I have a very similar problem. (See my post, which appears above yours.) Google Chrome works fine.

I've have the same problem, but I'm pretty sure it started after installing a windows update. This one specifically: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2670838

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Try to set the gfx.content.azure.enabled pref to false or if this didn't help disable Direct2D by setting the gfx.direct2d.disabled pref to true on the about:config page and leave hardware acceleration otherwise enabled.

Each of the above suggestions worked for me. I also have an ATI Radeon HD 4350 card.

I've just had this problem, after installing the latest drivers for my ATI Radeon graphic card.
