Visiting some web page firefox prompt for my primary password , i imagine to access the login data of the site, but in principle the site may ask for anyone of the saved login data (or not?), so in lack of a clear login page i wonder how to know which private data are requested by the page.

is there any way to see what data are accessed? This is especially relevant if i've already input the master password, in this case there is no evidence to the user that private data are requested and accessed.

To have more control, you can disable the Password Manager and instead use "Use Saved Login/Password" in the right-click context menu. You need to access about:logins to get the PP prompt and unlock the passwords to be able to use the latter.

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Logins and Passwords -> [] "Ask to save Logins and Passwords for websites"

I use this to avoid getting the PP prompt all the time when I visit websites for which I have saved a login, but have no intention to log in like reading a bug report on bugzilla.
