Chosen solution

Do you mean Yahoo is your default home page? (eg, when you open up Firefox, you see http://www.yahoo.com/ ?

In that case, we can change it. Please read How to set the home page. You probably want to set to either the Firefox Default, or if you were using another page (eg. Facebook, google, etc), just follow the instructions to put that in.

Now, unfortunately, for your lost settings, when you uninstalled Firefox, did you choose to delete all your old settings with it?

No, I did not make that selection. I had the standard firefox starting page, never got fancy with my home page.

If it is the Firefox button that you are missing, go ahead and go to View, then Toolbars, and uncheck Menu Bar.
