  1. http://easyviruskilling.com/how-do-i-remove-m55-dnsqa-me-removal-guide/

Edited by a moderator

  1. First link removed from display, it advises use of Spyhunter, which OP has already said did not help.
  2. Second link made none clickable. That site is saying Step 3. Diagnose your computer with SpyHunter and remove m55.dnsqa.me and other viruses (Important Step)
    • In my opinion that is neither an important or necessary step, and the OP has said Spyhunter has failed to help

Hi mrgiant, I would not recommend anyone try using Spyhunter partly because we know there is suitable free software around. Personally I would not use any of their software, and probably be rather suspicious of the advice on any sites that promote Spyhunter.

Follow the standard Firefox advice scanning with all the tools mentioned, because once one piece of malware|adware has a toehold you will tend to get others.

Please post back with how you get on and any problems you have.

Also for future reference it is worth taking note of

Malware Removal

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

hello

I have installed and run most of the software you suggested some I could not figure out how to make it work

this did limit the problem a bit I can use hot mail, google

I was able to use computer for a few days but no longer

but anything else is immediately taken over by dnsunlocker or something else

I end up on some other site trying to get me to play a game of sell me a product or warn me that my computer is infected and to send money

any other ideas?

If i uninstall and reload firefox every few days I can keep things limping along. That tells me it is a firefox problem and your software needs to update to solve this problem

I think you seem to have malware. The uninstall and reinstall works as a temporary relief until the malware starts working away and changing Firefox's behaviour again.

m55.dnsqa.me & dnsunlocker is nothing to do with Firefox installed software.

Why not post in one of those specialist forums. See what they say. You could then please post back here with the link to your question in one of the specialist forums, so we may follow your progress.

If they say it is a Firefox problem, not a malware problem we will try to see what further help we can provide. Let's all try to learn from the specialists.
