I am attempting to transfer over from Windows Live mail client to Thunderbird. I have created my two Gmail accounts without a hitch. When I try to create my Verizon accounts (two) I keep getting a "Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop.Verizon.net responded invalid username/password, USER: [email protected] " Please note I have x'ed out my verizon address for this inquiry. I have triple checked all my settings ports, security etc. in my saved configuring settings and what settings are presently working in the Windows Live program. I'm stumped. I know AOL took over handling of Verizon's email service and keep pushing their email client but I really wish to use Thunderbird. Help!!!

Check with Verizon about the correct server settings. The Thunderbird 'New Account' wizard may not pick the correct ones any more after the recent changes at Verizon.

You might also read about their less secure apps settings. How ironic. The least secure email provider ever, claiming other email clients are less secure. https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN27791.html
