KTLA 5 news no longer streams video. Chrome still works fine. Lost this when 43.0.1 came out. I am not sure if some settings will solve it.

On the website http://ktla.com/on-air/live-streaming/ I used to be able to watch the streaming news. Since 43.0.1, the web page opens up, advertisement video opens, but the streaming news box never appears. Chrome is able to accomplish this without problems. Perhaps another setting needs to be changed or updated?

Could have been a cookie issue. I only get the player if I allow third-party cookies. It also seems to work with a cookie allow exception for livestream.com

It looks like the player uses Adobe Flash Player. Please try updating/reinstalling Adobe Flash Player from the Adobe website.

If that doesn't work, an addon could be interfering with the website. Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

What worked was to "refresh Firefox". When I was looking for solutions, on one page I found a link that would refresh the install. I did this and all is ok now.

That is exactly what it was. A cookie issue. If I don't accept the third party cookies it will not load up and play. I refreshed Firefox and it worked again. In reality what it did was reset to accept the third party cookies.

I added the livestream link to the allow list and now it all works fine. Thanks so much cor-el
