Firefox crashes
Just randomly crashes - we tried all the recommendations and nothing seems to help: updating add-ons; drivers; windows; opening in safe mode did not help; do not have that "bit??" program;
One way that it always consistently crashes is when trying to download the add-on Hebrew Calendar - it starts to download and always crashes within seconds after and before it finishes the download.

I went to options -> sync and unchecked add-ons - hasn't crashed since. So at least for now it seems that was the problem - thank you.

That actually sounds right - you know, maybe it's that Hebrew Calendar add-on that works on the other computers but I can't download on this one? Does that sound right? Do the add-ons sync over to the new computer? I actually find the sync function to be the most useful of everything - the main reason I went to FireFox years ago - it sets up a new computer exactly like what I've been using (which may be the issue here?), I add one bookmark, or password, on one computer and it shows up on the others - it's terrific. So maybe I should try not syncing the add-ons on this particular computer and see what happens?

did u update to the version 26 yet?
Yes - I started out with FireFox 26 in the first place.
Hi. I seem to have the same problem as Rebbetzin. I've been using firefix as my browser for 4 years now on the same laptop. Recently, like the past couple of months, maybe close to a year now, firefox crashes on me so often. A few times a day, at least. I cant seem to find a pattern to the crashes. Sometimes it's when i click on a link to get me to a new tab, other times it's when i'm trying to upload pictures to email it, or downloading a document from my gmail, or sometimes it just happens in the middle of nowhere, even when i'm not using firefox that moment. It's really annoying and bothersome and i cant seem to fix it any way. even in safe mode it crashes. here is a list of the past few times it crashed.

Hi rochel
This looks like a problem with your graphics display driver and hardware acceleration in Firefox.
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
I did what you had told me to do, and it's still keep on crashing.
Here is a list of the past few times it crashed:

Hi Rochel, the two most recent crashes reference this file:
C:\Windows\system32\liger.dll
When I search for information on that, it seems to show up primarily in discussions about infected systems: C:\Windows\system32\liger.dll - Google Search
Could you right-click the file, check the Properties dialog, and see whether it has any useful information about it?
For clean-up purposes, this article lists tools that other Firefox users have found effective: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.

This liger.dll file also shows under Winsock LSP, so be careful with removing it to avoid breaking your network connection.
I'm having the same problem. I was using Firefox 25 and was told to update to the most current version, which it was at the time...now 26 is doing the same thing. Here is a link to the error I received from Mozilla - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37816995/Firefox%20crash%2012_25_2013.txt any help is appreciated. I also uninstalled and re-installed my video driver which didn't help...thanks!

Hi themofoman, FYI, your email address is in that document. You might want to edit it out.
Have you had the chance to work through the other suggestions in this article: Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly)?
If the suggestions there do not help, could you post some recent crash IDs as described in the last section of the article? That connects the raw crash data to the bug system and other peoples' crash data, so it provides more context for analysis.
i installed superantispyware and antimalware. they did a run check on my computer finding a few different bugs and it cleaned it out. i'm still having the same problems where firefox is just keep on crashing at any random given time. it's so helpless!!!!!!!!!!!! here is a list of the past few times it crashed:

The crashes are caused by the liger.dll file that is part of the LSP (i.e. takes part in the internet connection).
Do you have the Netsweeper Parental Controls software installed?
i don't have that netsweeper parental control downloaded
What is the location of the liger.dll file if you do a search?
Do not remove this file or you might break your internet connection!
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Thanks about the email...it's removed. I looked at the sync but Add-ons wasn't checked...just unchecked the use hardware acceleration when available and will see how that works. Here is the last crash before I did that - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37816995/firefox%20crash%2012_29_2014.txt. Also, it's not crashing when I'm doing anything in particular. Just surfing the web or email...sometimes it crashes 3 or 4 times in a row between it completely restores...go figure.
Such a text is only the information about your current setup that is added to the actual crash report, but doesn't include any data about the crash, so unfortunately doesn't tell us anything useful.

Okay, it might be overkill but here are a few from the last day or so before un-checking use hardware acceleration.

Hi themofoman, if I understand your last post correctly, these crashes are from BEFORE you disabled hardware acceleration, so we need to wait and see whether that resolves the issue.
Having looked at a couple of the reports, it seems you have 3 different video downloader extensions:
- Universal Downloader 20.0.1
- DownloadHelper 4.9.21
- Flash Video Downloader - Youtube Downloader 4.0.8
I wonder whether there might be a possible conflict or contention between them? While that probably couldn't cause a crash that occurs 29 seconds after starting Firefox, it might contribute to ones that occur during browsing. Consider having only of them enabled at a time.
