Why cant i see my downloads

When i download something normally another tab opens with the download and then i can access them from that tab but now i have to go to downloads in the tab menu and its getting annoying i just want that little tab window back to make it easier for me

Firefox 20 introduced a new download experience where a "down arrow" icon on your toolbar provides quick access to recent downloads. The feature is described in this article: Where to find and manage downloaded files in Firefox.

This has been criticized by people who prefer to close the tab and have their downloads continue in a separate window. Right now, you can use Ctrl+j to open the Download list in the Library dialog. In private windows, I think this opens a new tab; in non-private windows it opens the Library dialog in a separate window. You can force any tab into a new window by right-clicking it and choosing Move to New Window.


I created an add-on to pop up a new window more like the old Download Manager, but it doesn't work in private windows. If you don't care about private windows, you could try it.

On the following page, click the "View" button under "Pop Download History", then click the download button (arrow button to the right of the "eye" button):
