Why do web pages display incorrectly after upgrade to 6.0 from 3.6?

When I upgraded from 3.6 to 6.0 (tried twice), it caused displays on web pages to be severely impaired. I got pieces of headers, in the wrong places in some cases (primarily Facebook -- on the left side), and no content. Shopping websites had the items and headers displayed, but no descriptions. I could access all of this with IE, so it's not my computer. Reverting to 3.6 solved the problem. There was also text overwriting graphics on some of the pages. What few bits of the pages did display would respond to the keyboard or mouse commands intermittently.
