(Following on from my other thread) Keeping things separate. [other question anbout zoom levels]

Modifying the zoom works. In THIS session.

Alas I am wanting this to continue in future sessions also. As is (now) I have to go to those tabs (luckily only 3) and zoom them to 133% to get the layouts correct.

Is there a way to make that zoom constant for THAT (those) tabs?

Could you just briefly define what a 'session' is? You mean between closing and opening FF as a program?

I don't "Close" firefox. I only turn the computer off when done.

Next time I run firefox and the previous session is reloaded.

Now and then I close tabs in firefox after I've completed a journey down a rabbit hole - research.  ;)

But as a base line, I have ....29 windows of firefox with some having a few tabs and some having a LOT of tabs. (LOT LOT)

So I am "done for now" I just shutdown the machine. Firefox running with the 29 windows open.

Sorry folks if you are reading this and tried to use the link I supplied. (I just tried and it says `404 - not found`.

Second attempt to share the original thread to keep things in context. [original thread]

Such choices are part of the "Site settings". In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.

  • do not clear the "Site settings"
  • using "Clear history when Firefox closes" in Firefox 102+ honors exceptions and keeps cookies with an allow exception, previous versions removed all cookies
  • clearing "Site settings" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exceptions for passwords and other website specific data

Hi again.

Sorry for the sudden stop of my posts with either updates, acceptance or.....

Ok, the situation just got more confusing.

THIS machine: Ubuntu 22.04.LTS. It is a 16x9 monitor (1080p) AFAIK. Just bought it - upgrade from old TV (768 lines) I was using.

So I have all these windows open and was asking about different amounts of ZOOM on different tabs, and why that was forgotten between reboots. (this or another thread?)

Anyway so the situation is that I can set the tabs at different ZOOM levels without changing the ZOOM on other tabs in that WINDOW.

Great!

(Now the "spanner" makes it's entry)

I have a machine running Windows 10. It has a 21x9 monitor. I have firefox on that too as the browser. It is uptodate AFAIK.

That machine keeps different ZOOM levels on different tabs on the same window and they survive reboots.

I'll try to get pictures. Disclaimer: It is a great monitor. It is 5 feet away from me with no possible means to get closer. This caused a problem with reading web pages - sometimes. I was told how to increase the "font size" (via windows) and I have just changed it today to 200% which makes things a lot better for me to read web pages. So it has changed the dynamics of how that machine displays the web pages now. I'll set it back to 100% and take some screen shots and copy them to my USB network, bring them here and post the two sets to show them - if that will help me with what is going on.

Again: Thanks in advance for help. (What else would I need to get from that machine? FF version? How could I get the "share information" and copy it to a USB stick so I can post it here?)
